Genesis and evolution of social design
On the occasion of the exhibition Victor Papanek: The Politics of Design, which will be inaugurated this autumn at the Design Museum of Barcelona, Oscar Guayabero will give a lecture in which he will review the background and legacy of the designer and educator Victor Papanek, considered one of the pioneers of social activism and sustainability in design. We will be taken on a journey through social design, from the outbreak of the industrial revolution to the present day, to understand how design is part of our problems but also how it can be part of the solutions.
Led by Òscar Guayabero, “para-designer” and exhibition curator Coordinator of the Postgraduate Course in Contemporary Applied Arts at the Massana School, and professor at IDEP Barcelona, IED and ESDesign.
Place: Room C-Disseny Hub Barcelona.
