Design with the Family

#DissenyEnFamília

Within the framework of the Barcelona Design Week, the Museu del Disseny is organising a series of activities, Design with the Family, aimed at families with children up to 12 years old. With this invitation to participate in a fun-filled day, you can share the experience of a combination of games and workshops.

Kapla Building Set
Kapla is a traditional building game with an innovative component. The game pieces are made of pine wood, they’re rectangular and are all the same size. By combining these pieces, without fittings, participants can build spectacular figures.  This is a game that awakens curiosity, develops the imagination, the spirit of balance, and concentration. The activity is led by a children’s entertainer.

  • Saturday 9 June, from 11 to 14h and from 16h to 18h.

Objects Memory Game from the Design Museum
Anyone who comes can participate in a memory game based on objects from the Design Museum. This huge memory game is open to everyone.

  • Saturday 9 June, non stop from 11 to 18h
  • Sunday 10 June, non stop from 11 to 14h

WORKSHOPS

Liquid Earth
At the Liquid Earth workshop, we will learn a technique and experiment with a versatile material. Using moulded pieces that are all the same, participants can create a unique and original piece.

Ex-Librīs Pitibris!
Ever since the book first appeared, we’ve needed to mark them with some sort of identifier that shows who the book belongs to, or as a sign of our esteem for it.
In this workshop, we will be inspired to create our own personal ex-librīs bookplate, we will make the ink pad and then finally we will think of a spell to protect our books.

  • Saturday 9 June: four sessions at 11.30h, 13.00h, 16.00h and 17.30h
  • Sunday 10 June: two sessions at 11.30h and 13.00h

  • Duration: 1 h

Whoever’s Not Afraid, Will Print
In this workshop, we will get to experience the bac hand-printmaking technique, with all participants decorating a piece of clothing. At the end of the workshop, each participant will be able to take their personalised item home: a pirate’s bandana or a garment to pack according to Japanese tradition.
