This initiative, co-organized with Hilton and presented during the Barcelona Design Week, was launched with the common objective of supporting the creative community and local design, thus contributing to the dissemination and sale of their products while giving us a different vision of the city. Curated by the FAD and its asociations, the project has given rise to the first independent design map of Barcelona, a living map featuring a selection of 30 on-trend creators, new talents and young brands with their own point of sale.
The project is materialized in a mobile app and a map-installation. The map, created by the illustrator Pol Montserrat live during the BDW in the main foyer of Barcelona’s Hilton Diagonal Mar Hotel, will be on view until the end of the year. Meanwhile, the app will give continuity to the organizers’ commitment to drive the creative community through regular updates. It will be available for both iOS and Android and you will find the geolocalized points of sale selected by the FAD.
Through this initiative, visitors and local public will discover the most interesting shops of independent creators and designers in all expressions of design, from objects for the home and for people to fashion, complements, art, crafts, jewellery, graphic elements and much more. Among the selected names are Berta Sumpsi, Amalia Vermell, Bibu, Frosum, Carlotaoms, Ika, Ana Tichy or Working in the Redwoods, among others.
