EcoDesign Talks
BCN Design Week, within the framework of EcoDesign Day, is organising a day of conferences and networking activities with the aim to debate and highlight the importance of ecological design for the current socio-economic fabric, as well as the need to apply sustainability criteria to products, processes, environments and services.
The EcoDesign Talks will have participation from experts and professionals in the area of ecodesign and the environment, who together with attendees will explore new essential concepts for reconsidering sustainability, and will speak about several topics, such as ecological publishing, ecological building, lighting, furniture, urban solutions, packaging and institutional directives about ecodesign.

09:30h - Welcome: Francesc Giró, of ARC, and Isabel Roig, General Director of BCD Barcelona Centre de Disseny.
09:40h - Master conference: "Beyond the sustainability":
conference presented by Mike Pitts (Sustainable Technologies in the Chemistry Innovation Knowledge Transfer Network) and Ignasi Cubiñá(eco intelligent growth), experts in chemical ecology and material flow management. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore new concepts for reconsidering sustainability from the design itself and the definition of any product, the strategy and the policy to be followed.

11:00h - Round table: "Design and Environment, inseparable concepts":
Experts on the environment, designers and companies will debate about design and the environment as inseparable concepts. The attendees at this round table will be Guillermo Arquer (Hostal Empúries), Petz Scholtus (Pöko Design), Pere Pous (lavola), Salvi Plaja (Santa&Cole), and Pilar Chiva (Agencia de Residuos de Cataluña) as moderator.

12:00h - EcoNetworks: the first edition of these annual meetings shall be held within the framework of the BCD EcoDesign platform, which will have participation from companies, consultants, design studios, agents and platforms of experts who will exchange information and offer guidance and support to facilitate the integration of ecological criteria in their practices.
The topics put forward for the expert tables in this first edition are: ecological publishing, ecological building, lighting, furniture, urban solutions, packaging and institutional directives about ecological design.
