The creation of the new agency responds to a clear desire to improve the services provided and the strategic support given to Catalan businesses, placing more importance not only on encouraging innovation and internationalisation, but also on other work approaches which until now have not been studied in depth, such as new tools used in Human Resource Management for companies, attracting and retaining talent for new productive investments, technological capital and the creation and consolidation of knowledge networks.
This agency within the Catalan Ministry of Innovation, Universities and Enterprise has been set up to play a key role in supporting Catalan businesses within the context of the opportunities created by the current new environment.
This new organisation has not appeared from nowhere; quite on the contrary, it gathers together the experience and resources of two organisations, CIDEM and COPCA, which for twenty years have been developing policies, programmes and services in the field of support for Catalan businesses.
The new agency aspires to be a collective response to new realities through dynamic, agile and efficient public services.
- Pioneering and with leadership abilities.
- A public institution with private sector support.
- Providing services under the following principles:
proactivity and proximity to the business world, flexibility and the ability to adapt to change and to the individual needs of each business, efficiency and resource optimisation, and characterised by consensus between public and private actors.
The new agency’s role is based on detection leadership and the impulse of the new environment’s factors for change, getting as close as possible to the reality of Catalan businesses and promoting agile co-decision and co-participation tools.
It’s time to align policies and strategies in order to multiply, not just add up, the results of public support given to businesses so that a better response can be given to changing and growing needs.
