Kevin Slavin

Kevin Slavin is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Area/Code Entertainment. Founded in New York City in 2005, Area/Code pioneered early forms of entertainment that engage with e.g., user location, real-time synchronous TV broadcasts, and sharks with GPS transceivers stapled to their dorsal fins. Area/Code has worked with brands like Nike, Nokia, and Disney, as well as institutions like the UK's Department for Transport and the Knight Foundation, building games for cities and communities.
Together with Adam Greenfield, Slavin has taught Urban Computing at ITP (NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program) and continues to advise Thesis students. In 2010, he co-founded Starling, a platform for real-time engagement around live TV.
