Dr. Rubén Irusta
Director of the Environment Division at the CARTIF Foundation, Valladolid
PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Valladolid and professor at the Higher School of Industrial Engineering at Valladolid (ETSII).
Director of more than 30 applied research projects in the field of contamination prevention and treatment (atmosphere, water, soil), exploitation and valuation of residual waste (industrial, agricultural, livestock-related), nanotecnology and nanomaterial, as well as environmental management tools (SGA, AA, eco-design, LCA, ARA...). He has written more than 36 articles in scientific and technical publications, 3 books and 22 book chapters, 87 summaries of environmental congresses and 2 theses; he also owns 4 patents and has been the advisor for 40 senior projects.
He is the president of SC3 “Life cycle analysis and eco-labelling” of the Spanish Standardisation Association’s (AENOR) CTN 150 “Environmental management”; member of the Spanish Life Cycle Analysis Network; member of the Permanent Environmental Forum of Valladolid’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association for Promoting Life Cycle Analysis (APRODACV).
