Design and users: increasing the market
Design for All means intervention on environments, products and services so that people, including future generations, whatever their age, gender, abilities of cultural background, can enjoy playing a part in building our society, with equal opportunities to participate in economic, social, cultural, leisure and recreational activities, using and understanding any part of their environment as independently as possible.
Two simple principles must be taken into account when applying Design for All to create products and services: (1) all consumers should be able to use them; and (2) users’ needs, desires and expectations should be taken into account during the design and evaluation process.
With the cooperation of Design for All Foundation.
