The third Barcelona Design Week opens its doors from 10-14 November, having become established as a leading event for promoting and debating design and a date on the international calendar that can’t be missed.
The aim of Barcelona Design Week, an initiative organised by BCD, Barcelona Design Centre, is to promote Barcelona as a city of creativity, design and knowledge, strengthening the relationship between business and design and fostering greater understanding and awareness of design.
Barcelona Design Week 2008 will bring together companies from different production and service industries and professionals and experts from the design world at a forum to exchange know-how, a platform for exploring in greater depth the latest trends in design and design management and the strategic value of design for enhancing innovation and competitiveness in business, as well as the role it plays in the development of the global economy.
Is sustainable development possible through design? Are companies that manage design appropriately also, necessarily, those that manage innovation well? Or, what is the present situation of design management in Europe? These are just some of the questions that experts from the design world will be discussing over the course of Barcelona Design Week 2008.
